What is cloud?
18 February 2026
At CheeseHosting, we use a “cloud” system for creating Minecraft servers. In this article, you’ll learn exactly how it works.
What is “Cloud” at CheeseHosting?
At CheeseHosting, “Cloud” means you purchase a package based on RAM. Within this RAM budget, you can create unlimited Minecraft servers.
You’re not tied to a single fixed server. You have the freedom to run multiple servers simultaneously. This is ideal for networks, mini-games, or testing environments.
How does Cloud Hosting work?
Choose a package
Decide how much RAM you need and select a package. For example: 6 GB RAM.Create servers
Within your RAM budget, you can create as any servers as you want. The total usage cannot exceed your package limit.
Allocate RAM
You decide how much RAM to assign per server. This can be easily adjusted later.

Benefits of Cloud Hosting
Unlimited servers: within your package, you can run as many servers as you want.
Always scalable: you can easily upgrade without losing data or settings.
Full freedom: you control how RAM is distributed across your servers.
Cost-efficient: you pay for total RAM, not per server.
Example RAM allocation
For a 6 GB RAM package, you could run:
1 survival server with 4 GB
1 creative server with 1 GB
1 minigame server with 1 GB
Or:
6 small servers of 1 GB each
As long as the total stays under 6 GB, you decide the allocation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I upgrade my package later?
Yes! An upgrade is immediately active. Your servers remain intact, including files, IP addresses, and settings.
⚠️ Note: When downgrading your package, the total RAM usage of your servers must remain below the new limit.
